Taste Of Kulshan, a foothills celebration
Beginning Saturday morning August 29th through Sunday August 30th, the northern foothills of Mount Baker (nee, Kulshan) will be celebrating the area’s food, art, music, history and great outdoors! The regional indigenous people referred to Mount Baker as Kulshan and it is in honor of this timeless name and mountain that this upstream celebration has been christened Taste Of Kulshan.
Ride your bicycle or motorcycle. Drive your automobile, truck, van or bus (carpooling and designated drivers encouraged). Walk, run or fly. Whatever your planned mode of transportation, save the dates!
Foodies, from their home locations and regular hours of business, will be offering Samplers, Small Plates and Specials for $5 or under, in addition to their regular menu items.
On Saturday, swim upstream with us following the Nooksack River east of the junction of scenic Routes 9 and 542 all the way to milepost 35. Enjoy Rifugio’s country Italian cuisine while listening to local Irish folk band Gallowglass from the outdoor stage at 2:30pm. Continue upstream for many wonderful stops along the way: Talented and colorful foodies, artisans and bodyworkers. Magical trails for walking, running, hiking, biking and photography. Disc golf in Glacier and bike shuttles to Artist point by Wild & Scenic Cascade Adventures Baker Bus Bike Shuttles. Stop by the North Fork Library for selected area reading and a children’s craft activity! Saturday’s tour will end at Chair 9 for an evening showing of The Mountain Runners and more food and music.
